Port of Baltimore receives top U.S. Coast Guard security assessment

The Helen Delich Bently Port of Baltimore has received a top U.S. Coast Guard security assessment for the 15th consecutive year.

The assessment – which included a detailed review of all security protocols and procedures – is for the six state-owned, public marine terminals that are managed by the Maryland Port Administration (MPA).

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Maryland conducts an annual inspection at Maryland’s Port of Baltimore to ensure compliance with federal security regulations.

Allied Universal, a security company that works with the port, recognises the importance of maintaining the highest level of security for the Port of Baltimore and is committed to continually providing robust, industry-leading security solutions to keep the port’s workers and visitors safe.

“Allied Universal is honoured to serve the Helen Delich Bently Port of Baltimore, and we are pleased to learn of this outstanding ranking by the U.S. Coast Guard,” said Tracey Fuller, President of government services for Allied Universal.

“We take pride in our ability to provide a range of highly effective, facility-specific security solutions to the port so it can continue to serve the greater Baltimore community as a hub for economic growth, a stronghold for hundreds of thousands of jobs and travelling visitors.”

Last month, Norwegian authorities chose the Norwegian Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre (Norma Cyber) to collaborate on cybersecurity within the Maritime industry.

More recently, the Port of Rotterdam declared that all import containers from Latin America arriving at the port will exclusively be released securely and reliably through the Secure Chain system.
