Norwegian authorities have chosen the Norwegian Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre (Norma Cyber) to collaborate on cybersecurity within the Maritime industry.
NORMA Cyber will support the production and distribution of warnings, information- and vulnerability–sharing and analysis of cyber-related incidents within the maritime sector.
The assignment was given by the Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA) who together with the Norwegian Maritime Authority are the maritime industry authority on security and preparedness.

Expanding its role, NORMA Cyber will not only provide guidance during cyber crises and contribute to reports, but also join the NCA within the NCSC.
The company expects this to grant it deeper access to crucial information and empower it to effectively share maritime cyber intelligence.

“We are happy that the authorities have designated this important role to NORMA Cyber,” said Svein Ringbakken, CEO in The Norwegian Shipowners’ Mutual War Risks Insurance Association (DNK) and chairman of the board in NORMA Cyber.
“This will increase the efforts to secure the maritime sector against a growing cyber threat landscape. This will benefit society and industry alike.”
In April 2023, Smart network and ICT solutions company, Marlink, signed a strategic agreement with NORMA CYBER, to bolster cybersecurity intelligence.
