Estonian Port To Open Upgraded Terminal

Port of Tallinn in Estonia has announced that in the next two months the first stage of the upgraded D-terminal will be operational.

The terminal is being renewed by the domestic construction contractor Nordecon. It is anticipated that the port’s extension and reconstruction work will be finished by summer 2020.

Head of Port of Tallinn Infrastructure Development Peeter Nõgu said: “The collaboration with AS Nordecon, the general contractor of D-Terminal building, was very effective and all the issues that arose during the building of the complicated site were rapidly and professionally solved.

Peeter Nõgu, head of the Port of Tallinn Infrastructure Development, said, “The cooperation with AS Nordecon, the general contractor of the construction of D-Terminal has been very successful, and all the problems that have arisen during the construction of the complex site have been solved quickly and professionally.

“Today, with the first stage of construction, we have arrived at the point where the finishing touches are being made in the building, the construction of the facade is being completed, and the technical systems are being adjusted.

The EU is co-financing the reconstruction of the D-terminal under the Connecting Europe Facility project.

In the second quarter of 2019, the revenue, adjusted EBITDA and net profit of AS Tallinna Sadam increased. The revenue amounted to USD $36 million, growing by 0.2% compared to the same period last year.

The Group’s adjusted EBITDA was $21 million in the second quarter, growing by 4.1% year-on-year. Net profit amounted to $8 million.
