Wärtsilä ANCS, part of Wärtsilä, has introduced the NACOS Platinum Solid State X-Band Radar, a new radar system designed to improve maritime navigation safety and reliability.
The device reportedly uses solid-state transceiver technology and has a small housing and gearbox, eliminating the need for conventional magnetrons. This design guarantees that vessel operators have low maintenance and lifespan costs while maintaining performance.
The NACOS Platinum Solid State X-Band Radar provides target detection in all environmental situations, target tracking with separate signal processing and adaptive pulse transmission for increased danger recognition.

According to Wärtsilä, the radar’s signal processing and filter algorithms provide first-rate target presentation, resulting in excellent long-range target recognition without the need for preheating or tuning.
Eberhard Maass, Head of Product Navigation, Wärtsilä ANCS, said: “At ANCS, we push the boundaries of maritime technology to enhance safety and efficiency at sea. The NACOS Platinum Solid State X-Band Radar is a significant advancement in radar technology, offering our customers unprecedented levels of safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.”
