Ms Seow Hwee, Head of Port+ Business, PSA Southeast Asia, said, “OptETruck and the full suite of digital solutions will strengthen and bring about a smarter and more sustainable supply chain and logistics ecosystem in Singapore. Harnessing the support from our partners and stakeholders, PSA seeks to proliferate these innovative digital capabilities to the small and medium-sized enterprises, which will elevate the competitiveness of the haulage community, drive greater business agility, and aid them to achieve their sustainability targets.”

PSA Singapore (PSA) has introduced OptETruck, a proprietary cloud-based transport management system that employs Artificial Intelligence (AI), with the assistance of Enterprise Singapore.

According to PSA, OptETruck was made to facilitate smarter trip planning and eliminate operational inefficiencies for the haulier community in Singapore.

It aims to help hauliers improve asset utilisation, reduce carbon emissions, as well as optimise operating costs.

OptETruck’s automatic scheduling is an element made possible by a real-time resource-matching algorithm and predictive modelling to improve resource utilisation.

OptETruck may then match and recommend tasks to haulers, allowing them to decrease the amount of empty trips performed across various supply chain nodes. Asset sharing is another component of OptETruck.

This feature allows hauliers and their partners to pool resources and improve their fleet and journeys.

Several haulier businesses have already used OptETruck, and with the two essential features, they have reduced empty truck trips by more than 50 per cent.

According to PSA, this amounts to an annual reduction of around 10 million kilogrammes of CO2 emissions, which is comparable to planting 300,000 trees in a year.

OptETruck will be connected with PSA’s two other digital systems, SmartBookingTM and iBOXTM, to establish an intelligent logistics ecosystem that will digitally connect Singapore’s container ports, depots, hauliers, and logistics facilities.

“Harnessing the support from our partners and stakeholders, PSA seeks to proliferate these innovative digital capabilities to the small and medium-sized enterprises, which will elevate the competitiveness of the haulage community, drive greater business agility, and aid them to achieve their sustainability targets.”

This month, PSA Vietnam and Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on sustainable port development and supply chain connectivity.
