Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC (Heniff) has agreed to administer rail transloading services at the newly built New Orleans Transloading Industrial Park at the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA).
This facility, located on Terminal Road in New Orleans East, is intended to make it easier for shippers to shift products between trucks and trains, speeding up freight transportation to America’s heartland.
Port NOLA Acting President and CEO and Acting NOPB CEO, Ronald Wendel, said: “Together we will ensure products are moved more efficiently through the global supply chain while also driving economic growth in and beyond this region.”
The site, owned by Port NOLA, will allow Heniff to provide multimodal transportation alternatives for liquid and dry bulk items to existing clients while also entering new markets.

Heniff’s transload network spans 44 stations across North America, and the firm handles around 20,000 railcars each year.
The Transloading Industrial Park supplements Heniff’s existing liquid bulk service activities that are next to the property.
The facility has a total project cost of $3 million. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Shortline Railroad Priority Program provided a $1.5 million grant, which was matched by the NOPB.
