Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced a new service in the Europe – East Coast South America network (EEX), to further enhance OOCL’s network coverage in Latin America.
The EEX is expected to provide a direct link between Europe, Brazil and the River Plate region.

This new service is meant to address the refrigerated container demand from East Coast South America to Europe, with a transit duration of only 16 days from Rio de Janeiro to Rotterdam.
Port rotation for EEX service: Rotterdam – London Gateway – Hamburg – Antwerp – Lisbon – Algeciras – Santos – Paranagua – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Itapoa – Paranagua – Santos – Rio De Janeiro – Algeciras – Rotterdam
The new service is scheduled to go into effective from September 2023.
In June 2023, OOCL welcomed a large new 24,188 TEU container vessel to join its fleet.
More recently, Piraeus Port welcomed a 24,000 TEU containership, OOCL Piraeus, to its harbours.
