Ocean Network Express (ONE) has named the “ONE Singapore”, the sixth in a series of 20 methanol and ammonia-ready containerships, at a ceremony held at Imabari Shipbuilding’s Hiroshima Shipyard in Japan.
The 13,900 TEU ship represents a further step in ONE’s fleet expansion and decarbonisation strategy.
ONE Singapore follows the delivery of ONE Sparkle and its sister ships, enhancing ONE’s service capabilities on key trade routes.

Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, said: “Today’s naming of ONE Singapore signifies further progress in our fleet expansion strategy. This vessel, carrying the name of our global headquarters city, symbolises our strong connection to Singapore’s vibrant maritime ecosystem.
“As we deploy this vessel into service, we continue to build upon ONE’s strong commitment to Singapore, in its prime position as the leading global international maritime centre.”
Recently, Wärtsilä announced it would supply a conversion package featuring its Fit4Power radical derating and economical solution for the containership ONE Maestro. The Fit4Power solution reportedly optimises the power output from the ship’s engine, thereby reducing fuel consumption by, on average, approximately 13 per cent. This will, in turn, reduce emissions.
