Terminal Portuario de Guayaquil (TPG) has welcomed the Ocean Network Express (ONE) Sparkle on its first Latin America voyage.
The 13,700 TEU vessel is the first of 19 next-generation, low-emission ships ONE is adding to its global fleet, equipped for methanol, ammonia, and shore power operations.
Ronny Zúñiga, General Manager of ONE Ecuador, highlighted the ONE Sparkle’s eco-friendly design and its capacity for over 2,500 refrigerated containers as part of the company’s focus on sustainable trade.
During its Guayaquil call, the vessel will handle around 5,000 container moves, including nearly 1,000 refrigerated exports.

Luisenrique Navas, TPG’s General Manager, said: “We firmly believe that the growth of the port sector must go hand in hand with respect for the natural environment. That’s why we’ve adopted an approach that combines operational efficiency, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability.”
The ONE Sparkle operates on the AX3 service, linking major Pacific ports across Mexico, Central, and South America, including Guayaquil, and plays a key role in regional trade connectivity.
