Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, has announced that terminal operator YILPORT Holding will roll out its workflow management application Compass.
The visual solution, according to a statement, is set to be implemented across all five of the YILPORT-operated terminals currently using Navis’ N4 terminal operating system (TOS), increasing visibility and improving planning processes.
Compass is an application which digitizes the workflow of a terminal and “standardizes the way terminals work” to achieve higher levels of efficiency.

In addition to this, Navis has stated that multiple deployment options are available for Compass which allow for it to be implemented easily, suiting the needs of an individual facility.
YILPORT’s decision to roll out the solution follows a successful pilot period at the operator’s Oslo terminal, where Compass was utilized to track the planning and execution process for vessels from a Global Logistics Center (GLC) in Gebze, Turkey.

Compass aided in making relevant information available to terminal actors in real-time, boosting communications and facilitating collaboration.
Since completing the trial phase, YILPORT and Navis have continued to enhance the application, introducing new features and finding best practices for incorporating Compass into terminal planning processes.
A further statement from Navis read: “This collaboration ensured that Compass incorporated the features that were most valuable to the end users and help YILPORT to reach their strategic targets.
