The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has signed an investment agreement with United Electronics Company (eXtra) to establish a logistics centre at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The 10-year agreement is valued at SAR35 million ($9.3 million) and was signed by Omar Hariri, President of MAWANI, and Abduljabbar Mohamed Abduljabbar, Chairman of eXtra.
The centre, which will occupy an area of 32,000 square meters, will feature port-centric warehouses and storage yards to handle a variety of multi-brand products and appliances.
The figure represents a 15 per cent growth compared to 1,780,348 TEU registered in 2021.
With the addition of the new logistics and distribution centre, the port’s capabilities are set to further expand, making it a key player in the global logistics industry.
