A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has extended its partnership with Decathlon to optimise the ‘last mile’ delivery in Singapore.

Maersk will offer an end-to-end solution with ‘last mile’ – the last leg of supply chain operations – eDelivery provided by third parties, offering Decathlon’s customers real-time tracking and visibility of each parcel via a single platform.

In a release, the company said that the recent implementation brought a 120 per cent increase in volume during the trial period.

“Maersk has been on a journey to evolve from ocean shipping service provider to a holistic logistic partner for our customers,” said Rupesh Jain, Managing Director of Maersk Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

“Having a single, global logistics ecosystem enables our customers to ultimately shape their E-commerce supply chain into an advantage that delivers the best results for their business as well as their consumers.”

Maersk recently announced plans for a new Toronto distribution centre to serve the growth of Canada’s intermodal import and export cargoes.
