Sixth body discovered from Baltimore Bridge collapse

The body of the sixth and last victim who died in the fall of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, was discovered on 7 May.

José Mynor López, 37, was a member of a maintenance team filling potholes on the bridge when it was struck on 26 March.

Col. Roland L. Butler Jr. said: “With heavy hearts, today marks a significant milestone in our recovery efforts and providing closure to the loved ones of the six workers who lost their lives in this tragic event.”

This comes four days after salvage crews from Unified Command discovered the fifth victim of the bridge collapse.

It took officials six weeks to recover all of the victims’ remains from the bridge fall, with the first two discovered on 28 March.
