King Abdulaziz Port records 290,000 TEU in March

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has maintained its operating efficiency by setting a new record, carrying 289,787 TEU in March 2024.

According to MAWANI, the port has several leading operational and logistical characteristics and capabilities.

This includes 43 fully serviced and equipped berths and a capacity of up to 105 million tonnes of goods and containers, as well as several specialised stations, advanced equipment, and modern equipment that allow it to handle a wide range of goods in accordance with the national strategy’s objectives.

The port has reportedly increased its competitive advantage with four integrated logistics zones, with an investment value of more than 1 billion riyals ($266 million) and 200 million riyals ($53 million), in collaboration with major international and national companies, including (MEDLOG), the logistical arm of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and (Abyat) Company.

The port also introduced 12 new shipping services in 2023, and five new shipping lines since the start of the current year 2024, which helps to improve all services supplied to beneficiaries, including importers, exporters, and marine agents.

In March, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) announced the addition of VASI Shipping Pte Ltd’s IMS shipping service to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
