The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has announced the addition of VASI Shipping Pte Ltd’s IMS shipping service to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The service connects Saudi Arabia with Southeast Asia and India to five regional and international ports, including Malaysia’s Kellang, Surabaya, Jakarta, Indonesia, Nava Sheva in India and Jebel Ali in the UAE.
The route is serviced regularly by weekly trips with a capacity of up to 1,800 TEU.
In January, MAWANI announced a 12.07 per cent increase in container handling across the ports under its management in 2023.
Most recently, MAWANI handled 561,484 TEU in February, marking a 9.85 per cent decrease from the previous year’s total of 622,856 TEU.
