Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group) and Al Jazeera Steel Products Co have staged a ceremony to mark the opening of Abu Dhabi’s first AED250 million ($68 million) rolling mill with rail manufacturing capabilities.
The ceremony, which took place on 12 July, marked the start of a new era of economic growth in the region.
The creation of the mill in KEZAD on an area of 210,000 square metres intends to lead technical advances, improve steel manufacturing capacities, and contribute to the rising demand for high-quality steel products.
The POMINI LRM medium section mill with a capacity of 450,000 tonnes per year intends to meet KEZAD’s expanding customer demand for its goods.

As the area starts on plans to construct a Gulf (GCC) rail network connecting the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar, there will be an increased demand for railway steel parts, which the mill will meet.
Apart from rails, the establishment of this manufacturing unit in KEZAD will conveniently serve to the rising demand of its other goods through the well-established infrastructure and connection of KEZAD and Abu Dhabi.
KEZAD Group already has an amazing list of steel clients, and the addition of Al Jazeera Steel to the portfolio strengthens the industry’s ecosystem.
