An infographic published by shipping agents Tuscor Lloyds shows the likely effects of the Britain’s exit (Brexit) from the EU on the port and shipping industry.
The agents say that the potential currency volatility could have an impact on ports as 40% of shipping traffic to Britain originates from the EU.
PTI previously reported on a study by the UK Treasury, stating that Brexit would have a significant impact on the shipping industry as 113,000 people’s jobs could be at risk.
This follows news that Humber Ports could be affected by Brexit, with a particular impact on the opportunities available in renewable energy.
As it stands, there are currently 46% of people who wish to stay in the EU, while 43% of people want to leave the EU.
