HAROPA Port surpasses 1 million TEU mark

Despite a general decline in maritime container traffic, HAROPA Port has registered 1.25 million TEU as of June 2023.

Full container inland traffic experienced an overall decline of -8.6 per cent, with imports dropping by -6.8 per cent and exports by -12.4 per cent.

The port highlighted the positive performance of river traffic in containers, which saw a significant improvement with 12,834 TEU carried.

Particularly, the goods handled by Paris Terminal SA at Gennevilliers increased by 19 per cent in June 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

In terms of tonnage, there was a decrease of 16.7 per cent compared to previous records.

Maritime traffic in cars passing through the Ro-Ro terminal failed to demonstrate a consistent pattern, with some months seeing surges and others experiencing drops.

Overall, it has stayed constant since 2022, with a throughput of 130,000 cars.

In May 2023, the Port of Montreal and HAROPA Port announced the renewal of their first international cooperation agreement that took place six years prior.
