Evergreen has declared General Average for Ever Forward after both attempts to refloat the stranded ship failed.
Following the incident on 13 March, Evergreen activated an emergency response plan. The programme included dredging around the vessel to increase buoyancy and deploying tugboats for the rescue operation.
Evergreen appointed the salvor Donjon-Smit to conduct underwater inspections and design refloating plan.
Dredging work to free the vessel began on 20 March and the rescue team has since made two attempts to refloat on 29 and 30 March.
As both attempts proved unsuccessful and further rescue operations will require more resources, Evergreen has declared General Average.
Richards Hogg Lindley has been nominated as the GA adjuster.
There were no reports of injuries or damage and no indication of fuel leakage. It has also been reported that the vessel has not been blocking vessel navigation.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the competent authorities.
Local media reports that another refloat attempt is scheduled for next week.
