Dredging work to free Ever Forward begins

Dredging work to free the Ever Forward has begun after it ran aground in Chesapeake Bay last week.

Dredges from Don Jon Marine and Cashman are currently working on removing material around the stuck vessel from Evergreen Marine Corp Taiwan Ltd.

The Oyster Bay is working the area between the starboard side of the Ever Forward and the channel, while the Dale Pyatt is along the stern.

The 12,000 TEU vessel became stuck on 16 March, a year after the Ever Given blocked the Suez Canal for six days.

The Ever Given was successfully refloated at 15:00 29 March local time.
