GAC has expanded its shipping, logistics and marine services’ operational footprint in Belgium by acquiring the port agency business of Ahlers Belgium NV.
Ahlers Belgium specializes in logistics processes and operations by sea and land, operating warehouses in Antwerp and Ghent.
The company was part of the Ahlers Group which is present in 15 countries in Europe, Russia & CIS, Asia and Africa.
Ahlers assists customers in optimizing their transport flows through the active use of data analytics and digital platforms.
The transfer of the agency activities is a “strategic choice”, according to the Ahlers group.

Ivo Verheyen, the GAC Group’s Vice President – Europe, said: “The GAC family in Belgium, throughout Europe and around the world welcomes the Ahlers Belgium agency team aboard.
