COSCO, China Unicom reach digitalisation agreement

COSCO SHIPPING and China Unicom have virtually signed a cooperation agreement in the field of digital ports.

Under the agreement, both sides will carry out a cooperation in digital infrastructure, intelligent application of key scenarios, supply chain logistics, market expansion, scientific research, and innovation in addition to exchange and training.

The parties will work together to promote the digital transformation of the industry and the industrialisation of digital technologies to strengthen their position in the domestic and international markets.

Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Wan Min and Chairman of China Unicom Liu Liehong attended the ceremony on 5 July.

Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Chen Yangfan and Vice President of China Unicom Mr. Liang Baojun signed the agreement on behalf of both parties respectively.

In May, COSCO released first quarter results for 2022, posting revenues of $329.7 million.

The group said the growth was primarily driven by its subsidiary Tianjin Container Terminal.
