CMA CGM implements Low Water Surcharge in Brazil

CMA CGM is revising the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) applicable to all cargo from/to Manaus, Brazil.

The decision comes amidst a lack of improvement in navigability conditions on the Amazon River.

The shipping line has declared that the new LWS will amount to $1,100 per TEU effective 25 September.

For US, US territories, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador the amount will be set at $750 per TEU effective 5 October, then $1,100 from 25 October.

This month, CMA CGM adjusted its deployed fleet of vessels running the Liberty Bridge service between North Europe and the US East Coast.

CMA CGM also partnered with Maersk to develop several areas relating to decarbonisation, in full compliance with all laws and regulations.
