CMA CGM, Air France-KLM strengthen air cargo cooperation

CMA CGM and Air France-KLM have announced that they would resign from their current agreements due to regulatory constraints.

The two businesses have begun negotiations on new commercial terms and conditions that would allow them to operate freely starting 31 March 2024.

Air France-KLM and CMA CGM announced in May 2022 their intention to form a cargo commercial partnership, which became effective in April 2023.

CMA CGM remains a core shareholder in Air France-KLM. The parties have agreed to amend the existing lockup on CMA CGM shares in Air France-KLM’s capital, which will now be effective until 28 February 2025.

The parties have also agreed that CMA CGM will step down from the Air France-KLM Board of Directors on 31 March 2024.

In October 2023, CMA CGM Air Cargo announced the opening of a new scheduled route between Paris (CDG) and Cairo (CAI).
