CMA CGM has recently announced a new setup for its North Europe to East Med-Levant area service.
The updated rotation of the NC Levant/North Europe-East Mediterranean Express (NEX) comes as the company has made a significant investment in Egypt’s Alexandria Trans Misr Terminal (TMT), which is now ready to accept the NEX service.
The first vessel to call at Alexandria TMT will be the MV EF OLIVIA, which will be calling at Southampton on 10 February and Alexandria TMT on 5 March.
The El Dekheila and Port Said East/West ports will be served via Damietta with the company’s SSL MED feeders’ weekly departures.
In the UK, the Southampton call will be replaced by Felixstowe, with the first vessel calling Felixstowe being the MV MYNY, which is expected to arrive at Felixstowe on 26 February.

To further enhance the coverage between the Mediterranean and North Europe, a Northbound call in Malta has been added to the rotation, allowing for better connections from West Mediterranean, North Africa, and Adriatic ports to North Europe.
This will be ensured with the MV CMA CGM ISKENDERUN, which will depart from Mersin on 23 February and arrive at Malta on 26 February.
The full rotation will be as follows:
Felixstowe – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Le Havre – Malta – Alexandria – Damietta – Beirut – Iskenderun – Mersin – Malta – Tanger – Felixstowe.
The new service offers a transit time of just one day, complementing the existing Cabinda Feeder service that operates with a frequency of one departure every 11 days ex Pointe Noire.
