Circle S.p.A. has signed a new €180,000 ($210,879) contract to launch a digitalisation project in collaboration with a major Mediterranean Port Authority.
The project involves the development of various innovative solutions, ranging from the digitalisation of rail and vehicle traffic to the optimisation of railway shunting activity planning in the port context, up to the implementation of a Digital Twin for simulating scenarios related to port infrastructure.
Among the main planned activities is the creation of an API connector to manage interoperability between the Port Community System (PCS) and the national eFTI node, with functionalities supporting the management of the electronic consignment note (e-CMR), with the aim of regulatory and operational compliance with major industry trends.

Last month, Circle S.p.A. announced the signing of a new contract valued at €200,000 ($231,000) to further develop its Extended Port Community System. The contract, which will run for approximately 12 months, forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the digital infrastructure of Italy’s ports and intermodal logistics sectors.
