AD Ports Group and Saab UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a strategic working collaboration in the development of marine surveillance technologies and sensors.
As part of the arrangement, AD Ports will provide access to appropriate testing sites, as well as the necessary infrastructure and operational feedback.
Saab UAE will reportedly leverage its marine traffic management knowledge to develop new industry standards and next-generation maritime surveillance technologies.
Othman Al Khouri, Executive Director Corporate Authority, AD Ports Group, said: “We are committed to adopting cutting-edge technologies that enhance our operations.
“Collaborating with Saab will allow us to explore innovative surveillance solutions and contribute to the overall safety of our ports.”
Al Khouri added: “We also see significant potential for improving port and maritime security systems, effectively enhancing the safety and security performance of trade, logistics, and ports in Abu Dhabi and beyond.”

In June 2023, AD Ports Group signed a 50-year concession agreement with Karachi Port Trust (KPT), the Pakistani federal government organisation in charge of the Port of Karachi’s operations.
More recently, AD Ports Group announced the signing of several collaboration agreements with Shandong Port Group (SPG), a Chinese conglomerate that provides port operations.
