EVER ACE

The world’s largest cargo ship, Ever Ace, has arrived at the Port of Felixstowe where it unloaded 3,267 containers.

The vessel arrived from Rotterdam to the Port of Felixstowe – Britain’s biggest and busiest container port – in the morning of 19 June.

The Ever Ace first berthed at the Port of Felixstowe in September 2021.

The next port of call for the mega vessel will be Hamburg, Germany.

Built in 2021, the Ever Ace is operated by Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen Marine Corporation and can carry 23,992 TEU. It holds the record for the most containers loaded on to a single ship.

Another of the company’s containership, the Ever Given, became known in March last year after it ran aground in the Suez Canal.

The blocking of the Suez Canal caused chaos across the global supply chain and halted passage through one of the busiest waterways in the world for days.

Most recently, Evergreen’s Ever Forward was refloated after being stuck in Chesapeake Bay for almost a month.

The vessel was found to be free of damage from the incident and there is no indication of fuel leakage or pollution.
