Subic International Terminals

Subic Bay International Terminals has received the first call of Wan Lai’s consolidated Mindanao – Hong Kong – Taiwan (MHT) service.

The service called at the terminal in December 2021 after the earlier MHT service – the fastest connection from Mindanao to Hong Kong and Taiwan – integrated with the shipping line’s Subic Express Service.

The new port rotation of the service now includes Subic Bay (Philippines), Batangas (Philippines), Cebu (Philippines), Davao (Philippines), Shekou (China) and Hong Kong (China).

Wan Hai combined these two services in order to optimise its offering in the intra-Asia trade, utilising larger capacity, allowing it to meet increasing demand during the holiday season and the run-up to Chinese New Year.

As the first port of call in the Philippines, Subic benefits from the upgraded service’s improved transit time for raw materials and imported products.

ICTSI has also agreed to continue operating the Madagascar International Container Terminal until 2040.

Announced in December 2021, ICTSI and Société de Gestion du Port Autonome de Toamasina (SPAT) signed a 15-year extension of the concession for the container terminal during a ceremony that took place in Toamasina.

ICTSI has held the concession since 2005 and this extension will now see it develop and manage operations at the facility through 2025 until 2040.

The extension agreement was signed by Mr Valery Ramonjavelo, Chairman for SPAT, and Hans-Ole Madsen, Senior Vice President and Head of EMEA for ICTSI.
