Wan Hai Lines introduces new vessel in ship naming ceremony

Shipping company, Wan Hai Lines, has held a ship naming ceremony for its new eco-friendly WAN HAI 363 boxship.

WAN HAI 363 is the 12th vessel in the series of 3,013 TEU container ships built by Japan Marine United Corporation KURE Shipyard.

These new vessels are part of Wan Hai Lines efforts to pursue fleet upgrading.

Ms. Yoko Kaburagi, Director Vice President of Sojitz Logistics Corporation initiated the inauguration of the vessel during the ceremony which took place on 16 May.

The design of the 3,013 TEU series takes energy efficiency and environmental friendliness aspect into account, according to Wan Hai.

They are equipped with full balanced twisted bulb rudders, pre-swirl fin, an Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) system and the vessel meets the requirements for NOx Tier III.

All the ships delivered are certified with “Smart Ship”notations.

This ceremony comes more than a month after Wan Hai Lines held a ship naming ceremony for containership WAN HAI 331 at CSBC Corporation, Taiwan.

Earlier in the year, Wan Hai Lines also held a ceremony for WAN HAI A09.
