V.Group, a provider of vessel management services, has announced that it will launch the Seafarer app, a project to transform crew management and the seafarer experience.
The app, which enables V.Group to utilize regularly updated seafarer data, will help to improve crew performance, assist in planning, and support the professional development and training of seafarers.
In addition to this, the service tackles the problem of paper-based documentation, which can be a time-consuming process that affects the ability of managers to plan effectively.

Data from the app is also expected to support the goals of Project Embark, V.Group’s plan to use innovative technology and data-driven insights to provide a better service for its customers.
As part of Project Embark, training facilities at V.Group’s Manila seafarer centre have been significantly upgraded to include a full mission High Voltage Simulator, LNG bunkering simulator, and electro-technology training stations.
