Vice President of the US Joe Biden recently visited the Port of New Orleans where he was able to see the area in which Konecranes new rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes would be installed, which will be at the port’s new intermodal yard.
Konecranes is currently delivering two RTGs to the port.
The RTG cranes are equipped with Konecranes ‘Active Load Control’, which eliminates container sway to increase container handling performance.
Jussi Suhonen, Sales Director of Port Cranes at Konecranes, said: “We’re proud to be an important supplier to this intermodal terminal of Port of New Orleans.”
