Maersk Line, the world’s largest container shipping line, has selected Transas Marine for  ECDIS implementation on more than 100 of its ships.

The contract features Transas’ Navi-Sailor ECDIS 4000 in dual-configuration, plus a back-up station on each ship.

According to the agreement signed between Maersk Line and Transas Marine, existing systems will be upgraded to the latest version of the Transas Navi-Sailor ECDIS Multifunction Display with 2 ECDIS stations and a back-up installed on each ship, making all vessels ready for paperless operation.

Jens Pfeiffer, Navigation Business Division Director at Transas Marine, said: “We are extremely happy to intensify our cooperation with Maersk even further and thus proving to be a right partner providing the most advanced ECDIS solutions.

“This does not only require a state-of-the-art ECDIS itself, but also excellent engineering skills, comprehensive data services and after-sales support which are all critical issues when it comes to ECDIS implementation.”

The installations are planned to start in summer of 2015.
