Porto Itapoá reached 107,475 TEU in April, breaking its previous high of 106,565 TEU recorded in October 2023.
Felipe Fioravanti Kaufmann, Director of Business Development and Customer Experience at Porto Itapoá, said: “We were the private terminal that grew the most in the country for two consecutive years and today we account for a market share of about 8.5 per cent.
“In 2023, we achieved several important milestones, such as surpassing the milestone of 1 million TEU moved in a single year. However, it is important to remember that it was a very challenging year for the entire segment, and the port consolidated its position as a regional port reference, having prepared for it through heavy investments in its infrastructure.”

Porto Itapoá also set a reefer export record of 12,460 TEU, exceeding the previous high of 10,839 TEU in December 2023.
“Santa Catarina and Paraná are major exporters of frozen and refrigerated cargoes, especially animal protein,” explained Kaufmann.
