Port Technology recently spoke with Guy Rey-Herme, CEO and President of XVELA, to get an insight into how the company wants to revolutionize the digital supply chain.
Backed by Navis, the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through terminals, XVELA runs as an independent entity focused on stowage planning and management innovation.
The TOC Europe 2017 interview delved into how XVELA works as a SaaS (Software as a Service) collaboration platform for ocean carriers and what its plans are for the future of shipping.

Rey-Herme also explained why carriers and terminals should work together.
He said: “Terminal to terminal collaboration is very important . When [speaking to] carriers and terminals, they [told us that] if they’re a downstream terminal and they can see what an upstream terminal is doing, that its very helpful to them. As we go to markets and speak to customers, we find new opportunities and customer values.”
