The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), as part of the project for the development of the inner rail network of the Port of Sagunto, has put out to contract technical support for site management, health, and safety coordination.
This activity is the PAV’s initial step towards constructing the Port of Sagunto’s inner rail network. The budget for contracting technical help for works management and health and safety coordination is €616,317 ($674,621).
Companies interested in applying for the technical help may do so until 25 September 2023.

In this regard, the development of the Port of Sagunto’s inner rail network is anticipated to cost €17.5 million ($22 million) with an 11-month completion date, and involves the design of an intermodal goods facility with one beach for containers and another for automobiles.
This project is part of the PAV’s rail traffic strategy, which comprises expenditures totalling more than €240 million ($304 million), and is linked to the objective to decarbonise port activities and combat climate change.
Promoting train utilisation in freight traffic is critical to Valenciaport’s objective of being an emission-neutral precinct by 2030, emphasising the need of taking the required steps to improve rail accessibility.
In July 2023, PAV declared its intention to link to solar energy by the end of this year, with the goal of becoming an emission-free port by 2030.
