The Netherlands-based digital solutions provider, PortXchange Products B.V., has announced the launch of PortXchange EmissionInsider, with the Port of Rotterdam as the launching customer.
PortXchange EmissionInsider is a digital solution designed to support ports in achieving their decarbonisation targets from all transport-related emissions.
The PortXchange EmissionInsider is aimed to support the Port of Rotterdam in its ambition to improve its emissions-tracking practices and use reliable real-time data to analyse its carbon footprint.
The port is expected to make better decisions on emissions reduction strategies, standardise reporting, and support the port community and its customers to achieve their decarbonisation goals.
PortXchange EmissionInsider was created in collaboration with BigMile, a Netherlands-based calculation and analysis company offering solutions to optimise and report on multimodal transport-related carbon emissions.

“The PortXchange EmissionInsider helps us to visualise emissions from all transport modalities – sea-going vessels, barges, trucks, and rail. Equipped with this data, we can pinpoint the emission sources and develop a targeted approach to lower them,” said Business Manager, Energy Transition & Digitalisation at Port of Rotterdam, Douwe van der Stroom.
This announcement comes almost three months after the Port of Rotterdam Authority and Goodshipping launched a campaign to reduce carbon emissions through providing a vessel with sustainable fuel.
More recently, the Port of Rotterdam secured shore power for its Vlaardingen terminal.
