The Port of Rotterdam Authority, Rijkswaterstaat and the Central Government Real Estate Agency will organise a market information day for market parties interested in the Zon op De Slufter tender.
According to The Port of Rotterdam, the market information day is scheduled to commence on 27 November.
The De Slufter dredging depot is making 80 hectares of water surface available to create a floating solar park.
The Port of Rotterdam Authority and Rijkswaterstaat store polluted dredging debris in the De Slufter depot on the Maasvlakte, which they jointly manage and maintain.
In the future, they hope to combine this present operation with solar power generation to make better use of limited space. As a result, a portion of this territory is being rented for the next 27 years.

Floating the solar panels in the dredging depot means no additional space is needed to generate renewable energy on this site.
The De Slufter depot’s extreme western location makes it one of the sunniest sites in the Netherlands.
The region has the ability to support an installed capacity of around 128 megawatt peak (MWp), making it Europe’s largest floating solar park, according to the Port of Rotterdam. This produces an annual quantity of sustainable power comparable to the use of about 33,000 homes, as well as a CO2 reduction of more than 50 kilotonnes.
The tender is being prepared by the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Rijkswaterstaat, and the Central Government Real Estate Agency, and will be handled by the Port of Rotterdam Authority. Tendering will commence in late 2023 or early 2024. The developer of the floating solar park will be chosen in 2024.
That same month, the Port of Rotterdam Authority officially begun the construction of the national hydrogen network.
