The Sri Lanka Port Authority (SLPA) has received the container vessel Ever Arm at the Colombo East Container Terminal (CECT).
With a total capacity of up to 24,000 TEU, the Ever Arm spans 400 metres in length and 60 metres in beam and features a summer draft of 17.027 metres with an innovative propulsion system.

U Kumara, Director of Operations and Acting Chief Operating Officer of CECT, said: “We are happy to welcome the Ever Arm, part of Evergreen’s fleet, operating on the China-Europe-Mediterranean (CEM) route.
“After departing from Rotterdam Maasvlakte, the vessel is now en route to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, marking another achievement for our terminal.”
Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. built the vessel, which has a gross tonnage of 235,579 and a deadweight capacity of 241,960 metric tonnes, in 2022 at their Geoje shipyard.

Lal Weerasinghe, Additional Managing Director (Operations), added: “This landmark achievement reflects the excellence of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the Port of Colombo as a whole.
“It showcases the cutting-edge technology and modern infrastructure at the CECT, the newly commissioned deep-water terminal in our port.”
