ONE obtains stake in Indonesian container terminal

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has acquired a minority ownership in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

NPCT1 serves mature gateway markets in Southeast Asia. Built in 2016 and with an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEUs, its deep drafts and contemporary technology allow it to accept advanced mega containerships.

Jakarta is ONE’s third-highest traffic port in Southeast Asia. This purchase aims to expand the company’s foothold in the regional supply chain.

Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network Division, said: “NPCT1 is an efficient and green terminal that is strategically located in a fast-developing region. A stake in this terminal ensures access to capacity in a key gateway and supports our growth ambitions.”

Recently, ONE announced the launch of its Scandinavia Express (SCX) and Iberia Europe (IBC) services.
