MSC appoints air cargo sales and service agent

Leading shipping company MSC has selected ECS Group as general sales and service agent (GSSA) for North America and Europe within its Air Cargo business unit.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance customer satisfaction, meet growing demands, and optimise capacity utilisation across Europe, North America, and Mexico, according to a recent statement.

ECS Group will serve as the commercial partner responsible for local coverage in these regions.

Launched in late 2022, MSC’s Air Cargo business unit currently operates a single B777-200F aircraft between North America, Europe, and Asia. The aircraft is operated by Atlas Air under an ACMI agreement.

MSC has plans to share further details about its upcoming schedule for the second aircraft in the near future.

In November of last year, MSC informed Italian authorities it has renounced the purchase of ITA Airways after it presented the offer in January 2022.

In its statement, the group said it pulled off the deal as it did not recognise “the conditions in the current procedure”.
