Maersk unveils CAX connecting Caribbean and North Europe
A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has launched CAX, a new service connecting the Caribbean and North Europe to enhance its Latin American ocean network.

Replacing CRX and COEX, CAX offers greater reliability, faster transit times, and expanded connectivity.

Service rotation: Antwerp – Southampton – Hamburg – Bremerhaven – Newark – Manzanillo (PA) – Puerto Antioquia – Puerto Moin – Manzanillo (PA)

Puerto Antioquia served via feeder from Manzanillo until new terminal opens.

CAX provides direct reefers from key Caribbean ports with seamless Panama hub connections and improved feeder links, maintaining direct North Europe coverage.

Network updates effective September 2025:

  • CLX adds Santa Marta-Magdalena and shifts Southampton as first European port; Rotterdam and Antwerp rotation swapped

  • COEX and CRX phased out, replaced by CAX

  • Veracruz and Altamira served by dedicated TA4 Transatlantic loop with weekly North Europe coverage

  • ECUMED remains unchanged

Recently, Maersk integrated cold chain facility at the Ruakura Superhub was awarded a 6 Star Green Star NZ Design & As-Built rating by the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).
