Maersk, PUMA partner to operate Chilean omnichannel fulfilment distribution centre

Maersk has partnered with Global Key Partner PUMA to operate the first semi-automated omnichannel fulfilment distribution centre in Santiago de Chile.

The storage and distribution system will give PUMA complete visibility from its plants in the Asia Pacific area to its distribution hub in Chile, including the middle mile.

The facility will be in critical economic districts in Santiago de Chile, with easy access to the region’s major roads and stores, allowing PUMA customers to better service their markets.

Maersk’s integrated logistics capabilities will enable PUMA to manage inventory at origin, transit, and now destination, as well as additional value-added services.

The solution comprises the Maersk Warehouse Management System (WMS), which is a user-friendly, cloud-based platform for managing inventory throughout its life cycle.

This integrated system will reportedly provide real-time reports, giving users total control over order processing, reporting, and stocking.

According to Maersk, the system enables client-driven customisations and tracks actions across one or more facilities, from dock arrival to customer delivery.

Using real-time data and powerful automation, the system will optimise inventory management, order processing, and shipping logistics to give PUMA with a unified and extraordinary experience, allowing Maersk to accelerate, decelerate, or reroute stocks as needed.
