Maersk begins rebranding exercise with Senator integration

Maersk has entered the next phase of its internal integration with freight forwarding company, Senator International.

As of 1 February, the Danish giant will phase out Senator International and offer its products and services under the unified Maersk brand.

The legal entities of Senator will remain unchanged for the time being.

This integration follows Maersk’s decision to integrate two other subsidiaries, Hamburg Süd and Sealand.

The company sees this as a key step in realising its goal of becoming an integrated end-to-end partner, with the ability to offer better service offerings and the resources of all these companies under one roof.

“This rebrand will allow you to easily access the joint offering of the two brands, under one roof, with expanded scope and expertise,” reads Maersk’s latest advisory.

“Additionally, we believe this will bring more connectivity, agility and resilience to your supply chain, with enhanced options and solutions.”

Maersk completed the acquisition of Hamburg-based Senator International in June 2022.

Senator team members have been successfully onboarded to Maersk, as reported in its advisory.

Maersk and MSC recently announced their mutual decision to terminate the 2M alliance in January 2025 and pursue their own individual strategies.
