Kalmar has concluded an agreement to supply comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance services to Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean (WWO) at Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) in Panama.
The order comprises a three year Kalmar Care service contract covering the RoRo load handling equipment on the North and South American routes. It was booked in Cargotec’s 2020 Q2 order intake with the contract coming into effect at the start of Q3 2020.
Kalmar said it will establish a dedicated service team for the customer based on their existing local service organisation.
The current team has technical experience and resources which guarantee on-site resource availability, stability, flexibility and long-term cooperation with WWO.
Additionally, Kalmar will provide WWO with coordinated services, spare part planning, communication and follow up via the web-based MyKalmar platform, creating the transparency needed for effective collaboration.
Johanna Karlberg, Global Equipment Manager, WWO: “We made the decision to consolidate our maintenance activities under one service provider in order to enhance safety, performance and productivity as well as cost efficiency.
“Kalmar’s track record in comprehensive maintenance provision for leading terminals speaks for itself, and it was a natural step for us to continue our relationship with them, since we already extensively rely on Kalmar equipment in our operations.”
Svante Alveronn, Vice President, Contract Business, Kalmar: “We are very happy to have concluded this agreement with WWO.
“Their decision to trust their maintenance activities to us shows the high level of confidence they place in our technical capabilities, and we look forward to building an even brighter future together.”
