Kalmar receives large order from Brasmaq for Essential reachstackers

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will provide Brazilian equipment leasing company Brasmaq Portuaria (Brasmaq) with 21 Kalmar Essential reachstackers.

In Cargotec’s Q3 2023 order intake, four machines were ordered, while an additional 17 units were ordered in Cargotec’s Q4 2023 order intake.

The first batch of four reachstackers is anticipated to arrive by the end of Q4 2023, with the second group of 17 arriving in Q1 2024.

Brasmaq, based in the southern Brazilian coastal city of Itaja, Santa Catarina, specialises in leasing reachstackers and huge forklifts as part of a long-term process that includes maintenance and replacement components, professional guidance, and 24-hour technical support.

Elton Lima, Sales Executive, Kalmar Brazil, said: “The Brazilian market has shown strong growth in recent months. Setting up close local partnerships with leading local operators helps to address the growing demand from port operators for new machines, parts, service and technical support.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Brasmaq with these new orders, which will bring the total number of Kalmar machines in their fleet to 93.”

In June, Kalmar introduced a range of new sustainability options for its eco-efficient electric reachstacker at the TOC Europe conference in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
