INTTRA, an ocean shipping electronic marketplace, has announced the introduction of its INTTRA Marketplace Decision Support, which is a platform that enables freight forwarders and shippers to organise and analyse information about their previous ocean shipments, which can have a impact on the activities of ports and terminals.

The INTTRA Shipment Reliability Dashboard performs an analysis of actual vessel events to help assess with a higher degree of confidence shipping options for each region and destination.

The dashboards within this technology also allow freight forwarders and shippers to improve operational efficiency and customer service by making more informed decisions based on their own shipping history, trade lane by trade lane.

Inna Kuznetsova, President of INTTRA Marketplace, said: “Being at the centre of the ocean shipping community, INTTRA strives to help all industry participants to leverage IT to drive innovation and operations excellence. While INTTRA's Decision Support Dashboards are designed for the shippers and freight forwarders, they benefit terminals and ports by creating a solid foundation for stronger partnerships between all parties.

“Data quality in recording vessel arrival and departure times plays a large role in tracing shipments and improving predictions of transit times. Providing objective, standardised analytics of estimated vs actual arrival departure and transit helps everyone to identify and focus on areas for improvements.

“That drives better customer service, reduces risks through better preparedness for unplanned interruptions and minimizes late shipment fees. While these two products are the first two dashboards in our new family of products, we will be delighted to further partner with ports and terminals to develop additional tools for their decision support.”

Fact File: INTTRA is the world’s largest, multi-carrier e-commerce marketplace for ocean shipping. INTTRA professionals work with 54 leading carriers and 109 software alliance partners, as well as their customers, to streamline and standardise their shipping processes worldwide through a network of more than 220,000 shipping professionals. Over 600,000 container orders are initiated on the INTTRA platform each week, representing 22% of global ocean container trade.
