An infographic released by automation and robotics company ABB shows the sheer size of the MSC Oscar and how many vehicles, planes and trains it would take to move the 19,224 TEU of cargo aboard the ship.

In a previous article covered by PTI, the MSC Oscar was shown from the inside, including its engine room and on-deck section of the vessel. As the world’s largest container vessel, the MSC Oscar is able to travel more than 26,000 on a full fuel tank.

In the infographic, it shows that to be able to transport the entire contents of the ship, around 1,100 Boeing 747 aeroplanes would be required.

The MSC Oscar was recently joined by the MSC Oliver as the world’s largest container ship – a title that is likely to be outdone by container line OOCL’s mega-ship order for around six 21,150 TEU ships.

In a bid to connect more with its customers and develop stronger relationships, MSC has recently announced a move to launch its own social media strategy, presumably to match its 2M partner company Maersk, which currently has over one million likes on its Facebook profile.
