Identec Solutions, a wireless solution provider, has updated its Terminal Tracker system with a new Shock Sensor VSM400.
The new Shock Sensor will be incorporated into upcoming Terminal Tracker installations.
Identec Solutions ensured that this solution is customised to meet the specific requirements of terminal operators worldwide.
The sensor is designed to detect shocks and bumps while also having the capability to function as a compass. The compass, when utilised in a Terminal Tracker setting, may offer critical data to the vehicle monitoring service.
Thanks to its compatibility with the previous Identec Solutions Shock Sensor, the VSM400 hardware allows for seamless retrofitting or scaling of existing installations.
Marcus Pereira, Product Manager of Terminal Tracker at Identec Solutions, said: “The state-of-the-art Shock Sensor VSM400 comes with more robust components and industry standard connectors, and therefore, will serve us well in the coming years.”
The Shock Sensor VSM400 is capable of monitoring shocks within the vehicle itself or its components, such as the spreader.
The sensitivity of the hardware can be adjusted to either amplify or reduce the range of shock events detected by the device, according to the company. These shocks can result from collisions as well as bumps and other typical conditions encountered during vehicle operation.
The VSM400 was developed by Identec Solutions in close collaboration with Konecranes.
