Hyster has made its Hyster Tracker™ telemetry solution, or wireless monitoring, standard on electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) counterbalanced lift trucks and select stand-up lift trucks.
The technology tracks lift truck utilisation, impacts, location, and diagnostic trouble codes, helping operations schedule and monitor preventive maintenance, providing a clearer understanding of fleet operation costs.
Additionally, seven years of wireless communication fees are included at no extra charge.
“The goal with making wireless monitoring standard is to equip more operations with the insights that can help them extend the life of their trucks and reduce avoidable damage, downtime and costs,” said Steven LaFevers, Vice President, Global Emerging Technology, Hyster.
Hyster Tracker offers real-time fleet telemetry monitoring through easy-to-use dashboards that provide actionable insights. It aims to improve safety by encouraging operators to follow best practices and helps operations spot potential issues before they escalate.

The data is stored in a cloud-based portal accessible 24/7 via any internet-enabled device. With wireless monitoring, operations can:
- Track operator and equipment utilisation to optimise workflow and productivity
- Monitor engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electronic functions to maximise uptime
- Receive real-time safety notifications
- Track the location and activity of lift trucks and operators
- See impact alerts to improve site safety and reduce damage
- Access data on utilisation, availability, charging, and maintenance for fleet optimisation.

Wireless monitoring is the first of three levels in the Hyster Tracker offering.
The second level, wireless access, includes features like operator key card access and automatic shutdowns to save energy.
The third level, wireless verification, enables electronic pre-shift checklists, including those required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
In recent news, Hyster announced an expanded lineup of high-capacity electric forklifts that offer the configurability to match a range of heavy-duty applications.
